I'm sure there is some parenting book somewhere out in the universe that explains how and when a child develops a sense of humor. I'm not sure if Paige has met the milestone early or late, but all I can say is that she can be quite funny. It's especially funny when she comments on her hilarity. For example, "I'm being funny aren't I mommy. I'm being funny like daddy is funny." Uh oh... I could really be in for it here folks, one more "Howard" sense of humor frolicking about in the world.

"Girlie Girls"
I've never been much of a "girlie girl", so I'm always baffled when Paige takes a liking to all things girlie. For example, Easter bonnets on any given day, polished nails, "pony" dresses (a.k.a. The Jay Howard Uniform - Polo Dress), tiara's, sparkly shoes, princesses and all things pink.
Oddly enough, last week, these adorable hats pictured above arrived in the mail from Mimi and Papa who are on their Great Loop Trip (www.discoveringithaka.blogspot.com) the same day that I bought the matching hats below.
I couldn't resist these cute little numbers from the Baby Gap clearance bin. They were meant to be used for a fall photo shoot that we never made it to... we'll chalk that one up to an over scheduled / sick kid day.
My point is this, despite my moments of frustration, it is wonderful to see that our Paige is, shall we say blossoming (HA! Get it - hat above) into an intelligent, independent, tenacious, funny, sweet, curious, articulate (most of the time) two and a half - almost THREE year old! A girl who may not be very much like her mommy, but a whole lot like her daddy (not the girlie stuff, but the adjectives listed above) which is the reason I love her more every day.

Toddlers and Tiara's...Oh My!
"Mom, I don't need a tiara at Disney World. I just need my pink, flower dress from my Great Nana." Oh, Lord!
Running around the house "sans" clothing with her baby buggy: "Meagan, Meagan where are you? Meagan, mommy where are you. Jay, where's mommy?"

Finally Some Inspiration
I've been wanting to post something for quite some time now, but haven't been able to come up with anything to say. We've been busy enough, and I'm writing down all the little funnies, but I seem to have misplaced my notes. However, the tides have turned, "Daddio" has a little something to share with us today.
And so, apparently all it takes is a little poop to inspire me to write a little something about our dear Paige.
While I was at the gym this evening attempting to complete my 5K run on the treadmill ( can you tell I'm proud of myself??), the following transpired.
From the kitchen Jay hears:
"I have to poop."
" Ok, let's go to the potty."
"No daddy, I have poop."
At this point, dear dad is concerned and heads over to assess the situation.
"Daddy, I have poop on me" in an oddly happy and excited tone.
Jay investigates...
Liv had a massive, up the back blow-out, she and the play mat are coated.
"Daddy, I have poop on my face, it's funny!"
Yep, sure enough she has, while playing and hugging her sister, Paige managed to coat the front of her face in a thin layer of poo. It stretched from the hairline to the chin. The nose, assuming because it protrudes, has a micro nugget stuck to it.
"I have poop on my face, it's stinky, I have poop on my face, it's funny!"
The photo gives a small sample of the mess.
Daddio is going to think twice before bedtime kisses tonight!
WARNING.... PHOTO BELOW IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!!!!

What A Weekend!
This weekend Paige went on her first weekend getaway with Mema, Gramps and her cousin Blake to Disney World. She had a blast!
From what she tells us she met Pooh, Tigger, got to hold Tinkerbelle, met Cinderella and a few other princesses. She rode the merry-go-round, the teacups and an elephant ride.
While Paige was away, the house was a little on the quiet side and we were able to sleep in on Saturday morning for the first time in a very long time (we woke Liv up at 11 o'clock). It's hard to believe what a big girl she is now - having her own "cousin's weekend" without her parental units.

I can only imagine how nice and cool it must have been in the middle of the state! :) Now get some rest!

BEFORE EDITING

AFTER EDITING
A friend of mine mentioned picnik.com in one of her posts on Facebook... I know, I know. Anyhow, it's awesome! Free editing and you can add all kinds of cute things to photos. Love it! Now I can make my kiddos look even cuter than they already are. Tee Hee!
